Who is Anna Murray?

Anna Murray is the designer of Lewis Tweed.

Working on the Outer Hebridean Island of Lewis, Anna is designing her new and vibrant Tweeds.

As well as her successful career in music and television, Anna has been taught the craft of weaving as apprentice to Ian Sutherland. She is now producing some of the finest designer Tweeds in the world.

For Anna, the feel of the cloth is a huge part of the magic of Lewis Tweed. She says 'for so long people have referred to tweed as the itchy scratch material, I want to change that with my new soft, finely woven tweeds in vibrant colours.'

About Harris Tweed

Harris Tweed or the Clo Mhor (Big Cloth) is only produced in the Outer Hebrides.

Island Tweed supply single width (75cm) handwoven Harris Tweed most of which has been designed by Anna Murray.
